The Summit Story
Summit Design & Engineering was founded in 1997 with a straightforward belief: infrastructure projects work better when technical expertise, accountability, and coordination are treated as equally important.
Founded in 1997 as Callemyn-Parker,Inc. the firm was established through the partnership of Principal and Chairman Jim Parker and land surveyor Alois Callemyn. What began as a local engineering firm has grown over time in response to client needs. As projects became larger, schedules tighter, and coordination more demanding, clients increasingly needed a partner capable of bringing multiple disciplines together under one team.
We responded by expanding carefully and deliberately. We added technical capabilities, opened offices closer to the clients we serve, and invested in the people and systems required to support more complex work across multiple states.
Today, Summit is a 350+ person firm operating across 14 states. Our teams include architects, engineers, surveyors, inspectors, planners, and field professionals working together to deliver infrastructure projects that are practical, buildable, and designed to perform over the long term.

Today, we operate from our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, with multiple offices serving clients nationwide.
